Lewis Hamilton has expressed that Mercedes drivers Kimi Antonelli and George Russell "should be a lot further ahead" in the Drivers' Championship standings. Currently, Antonelli leads Russell by 25 points, while Hamilton trails just seven points behind his former teammate.

Despite Mercedes having the fastest car for much of the season, reliability issues have allowed Hamilton to remain competitive as the season nears its midpoint. Hamilton noted the tightness of the standings ahead of the upcoming Belgian Grand Prix, stating, "I don't really look at it much. I don't think about it. I don't think it's particularly relevant."

He acknowledged the impressive performance of Mercedes, remarking, "It's great that we're all close when really Mercedes have been the strongest team and they should be a lot further ahead. So, that's exciting for the rest of the year, hopefully."

While Antonelli and Russell have missed scoring at two races, Hamilton has consistently finished in the top six, securing four podiums in his last five races, including a victory in Barcelona.

Hamilton also highlighted the importance of reliability in their battle for the Constructors' Championship, where Mercedes leads by 78 points. He stated, "I hope so. Often in championships, that is the case. That's really down to the amazing work the team's done in really building us a reliable car."

In a personal note, Hamilton expressed his disappointment over England's exit from the World Cup, feeling "gutted" after their defeat to Argentina. He aims to uplift the nation with a strong performance at Spa-Francorchamps, saying, "I come here to try and win, that's for sure."
