Two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Kyle Busch passed away at the age of 41, as announced by his family on Thursday. The racing community expressed profound grief, with a joint statement from the Busch Family, Richard Childress Racing, and NASCAR saying, “Our entire NASCAR family is heartbroken by the loss of Kyle Busch.”

Busch, remembered as a future Hall of Famer, was celebrated for his fierce talent and deep passion for the sport. He made a significant mark over a career spanning more than two decades, setting records for national series wins and winning championships in 2015 and 2019. His legacy includes fostering new talent as an owner in the Truck Series, and he built a loyal fan base known as 'Rowdy Nation.'

Earlier on Thursday, his family updated fans that Busch was hospitalized and would miss the upcoming Coca-Cola 600. They requested privacy during this difficult time.

A Las Vegas native, Busch holds the record for the most wins across NASCAR’s three national series, totaling 234 victories including 63 in the Cup Series. This current season marked his fourth with Richard Childress Racing, where he faced challenges in consistency, ranking 24th in the Cup Series standings with two top-10 finishes in 12 races. His last victory occurred in 2023, marking his inaugural win with RCR.

Notably, Busch's season was marred by a public disagreement with former teammate Denny Hamlin, who had made remarks on his podcast that Busch took offense to. Despite the tension, the relationship appears to have improved, with Hamlin later acknowledging Busch's immense contributions to racing.
