The loss in Mallorca marked a significant setback, as it denied England the chance for automatic qualification for the upcoming Women's World Cup in Brazil. Instead, Spain claimed the top spot in the group due to their superior head-to-head record.

As England prepares for their final qualifying match against Ukraine at Hill Dickinson Stadium on Tuesday, Hemp emphasized the importance of learning from their disappointing result. She stated, "It’s a disappointing result for us as players. But in games like that, you probably learn the most... we’ve shown in the past that when we’ve had results like that, we’ve been able to come back and bounce back and that’s what we plan on doing tomorrow."

The defeat against Spain was not only the largest under head coach Sarina Wiegman but also England’s heaviest loss in 17 years. Wiegman reassured that the team has moved on, stating, "It felt hard, it hurt, it was sad, but we’ve moved on too because we have another game tomorrow."

Training resumed on Monday at Liverpool women’s team’s training ground, although goalkeeper Khiara Keating will not return due to concussion concerns. Wiegman indicated some tactical rotations for the upcoming match, highlighting her desire to win and explore different player combinations. She noted, "There are some tactical decisions to make because we expect different challenges tomorrow."
