The Las Vegas Aces have taken a strong stance against racism following the hateful messages directed at starting guard Chelsea Gray. This statement was released a day after a man lost his job for sending a racist Instagram message to Gray.

The Aces' official statement declared, "The Las Vegas Aces organization unequivocally condemns the hateful and racist messages recently directed at Chelsea Gray. We do not tolerate hate speech of any type, whether it's online, in the arena, or anywhere within our community."

In response to a 109-75 loss against the Indiana Fever on Sunday, Gray revealed a screenshot of a message containing a racial slur. The sender, identified as a Hilton Grand Vacations employee, was promptly fired.

The statement continued, "We stand with organizations, like Hilton Grand Vacations, that hold individuals accountable for racist conduct. No athlete should ever face this type of abuse for playing the game they love."

The Aces emphasized their support for all players in the WNBA, stating, "To all our players and the entire WNBA community, you have our unwavering support in fighting against all forms of racism, hate speech, and harassment."

Shortly after, the WNBA echoed this sentiment, stating, "The WNBA fully supports the Las Vegas Aces' statement and stands with Chelsea and every member of our league. We unequivocally condemn racism and all forms of hate."

This incident is part of a troubling trend, as the league has previously addressed similar issues, including death threats received by Phoenix Mercury forward Alyssa Thomas. The WNBA remains committed to ensuring a safe environment free from hate and harassment.
