World champion Lando Norris is investing his own funds into a driver development program and forming a new team called LN4 Fusion to discover the next Formula 1 champion. The initiative was announced on the eve of the Italian Grand Prix weekend and aims to operate across various feeder categories starting in 2024.

In an exclusive interview with BBC Sport, Norris expressed his desire to give back to motorsport, saying, "Why? Because I can." He reflected on his journey, stating, "I have the amazing opportunity to use the bonuses of what was my dream... and help other people achieve their dream."

Key highlights of Norris's plans include:

• LN4 Fusion will run teams in the Italian F4 Championship, FIA Formula Regional European Championship, and FIA Formula 3 Championship by 2027.
• The team aims to compete in Formula 2 next year, pending the completion of the application process.
• The project will be co-owned with an investment group led by businessman Dan Richards, alongside Rene Rosin, founder of Prema, overseeing daily operations.

Norris emphasized the importance of support and opportunity for young drivers, stating, "Getting to Formula 1 takes so much more than just talent. You need the right people around you."

The program will also include the LN4 Legacy Programme, focusing on providing talented young drivers with opportunities that may otherwise be inaccessible. Norris's commitment to this initiative reflects his passion for nurturing future talent in the sport, aiming to create a strong, supportive environment for aspiring racers.
