Lando Norris expressed enthusiasm about the possibility of rival Max Verstappen joining McLaren from Red Bull, calling it "a good thing." This comes amid reports that Verstappen's representatives have engaged in discussions with McLaren, raising questions regarding the four-time world champion's future.

Verstappen, currently under contract with Red Bull until 2028, reportedly has an exit clause allowing him to leave at the end of this season if he does not rank among the top two in the Drivers' Championship by the summer break. Presently, he sits in seventh place, trailing Kimi Antonelli by 98 points and George Russell by 58 points.

During a press conference ahead of the British Grand Prix, Norris highlighted that many drivers aspire to join McLaren, not just Verstappen. He stated:

It's a cool thing. It's a good thing that a four-time world champion potentially wants to join the team. I'm still going to be here for many, many more years, so excited for whoever I get partnered with.

Norris also noted his excitement about collaborating with fellow drivers like Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso. Meanwhile, Verstappen maintained focus on his racing, humorously deflecting questions about the McLaren meeting by saying, "That's what you say."

Oscar Piastri, Norris’s teammate, reassured fans that he feels secure in his position, stating:

I've had multiple reassurances that the team are very happy with me. I'm very happy where I am, happy with the situation I'm in.

As the British Grand Prix approaches, both drivers remain focused on their current team dynamics and the upcoming races.
