An attempted burglary at the home of Lamine Yamal, the 19-year-old Spanish star, was thwarted just hours after he contributed to Spain reaching their second World Cup final in history. This incident occurred shortly after Spain’s impressive 2-0 victory over France in the semi-finals held in Dallas on Tuesday.

According to La Vanguardia, two masked individuals attempted to enter Yamal's property early on Wednesday morning but were spotted by private security guards. Upon being challenged, the burglars fled the scene, prompting the guards to alert local police.

Yamal played a pivotal role in the semi-final, winning a crucial first-half penalty after being fouled by Lucas Digne, which was converted by Mikel Oyarzabal. Notably, he also had a goal disallowed for offside in the second half.

This young talent, who previously won the European Championship with Spain in 2024 just a day after turning 17, now stands on the brink of becoming a world champion at just 19. Spain is set to face either England or Argentina in the final on Sunday, entering the match as favorites following their strong performance against France.

Yamal has been a key player throughout the tournament, participating in all seven of Spain's World Cup matches despite a hamstring issue that sidelined him towards the end of the domestic season with Barcelona. He scored during Spain’s 4-0 group stage victory over Saudi Arabia but has not added to his tally since.

Spain aims for their second World Cup title, 16 years after their first in 2010, where they defeated the Netherlands 1-0 in the final. They now stand just 90 minutes away from glory, having triumphed over Austria, Portugal, Belgium, and France in the knockout rounds.
