Tickets for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games will officially go on sale to the general public on April 9, as announced by organizers on Monday. To kick off the excitement, a presale for residents in qualifying areas of Los Angeles and Oklahoma City—the latter hosting softball and canoe slalom events—will begin on April 2.

The LA28 program features 1 million tickets priced at $28, marking the lowest price point available. Key pricing details include:

• Approximately 5% of tickets will exceed $1,000.
• Over 75% of total tickets, including finals, will be priced under $400.
• Nearly 50% of tickets will be available for less than $200.

Allison Katz-Mayfield, LA28’s senior vice-president of Games delivery revenue, emphasized that these prices are competitive, stating, “Tickets are comparable to and in many cases well under what we see for other professional sporting and major entertainment events in the US.”

To enhance ticket security, LA28 announced a verified multi-platform resale program set to launch in 2027, with AXS and Eventim designated as the official secondary ticket marketplace. Ticketmaster and Sports Illustrated Tickets will also serve as verified resale platforms.

As organizers gear up for the first ticket drop, they urge fans to avoid unauthorized sellers, reiterating that primary tickets will only be available through official providers, AXS and Eventim. LA28 CEO Reynold Hoover remarked, “Having a variety of platforms was critical to providing fans multiple points of access to verified tickets.”

This announcement marks a significant step in making the Olympic experience accessible to a broader audience.
