The Italian teenager, who leads the championship, saw his once 68-point advantage shrink to 40 points after a retirement in Barcelona and a third-place finish in Austria, where Russell secured his first Grand Prix victory since the season opener.

Reflecting on his recent performances, Antonelli stated, "Yeah, of course, I have a big fire inside of me because the last two races didn't go well, considering the pace we had." He acknowledged that while he felt strong in the car, mistakes in qualifying and race strategy hindered his results.

Antonelli is optimistic about the upcoming British Grand Prix, expressing excitement for the event and confidence in Mercedes’ performance at Silverstone. He remarked, "I'm very excited. I think this is one of the best weekends of the season and one of the best crowds, so I'm really looking forward to it."

On the other hand, Russell aims to conquer his home track, noting that Silverstone has been challenging for him, with a best result of fifth in past races. He emphasized that he feels more confident than ever this season, stating, "Right now I've got more confidence than ever in this season because I feel I've got more tools in my locker."
