Wimbledon finalist Karolina Muchova is set to be sidelined for a "few weeks" following a "small surgery". The 29-year-old experienced a dramatic three-set loss to compatriot Linda Noskova at the All England Club earlier this month.

Muchova, who has battled wrist injuries throughout her career, did not disclose the specifics of her current issue or the exact timeline for her return. However, she confirmed that she will miss the Canadian Open in Toronto, scheduled to start on 1 August.

In her own words, Muchova stated,
"I had to undergo a small surgery that will keep me off the court for a few weeks. Everything went well, and I'm already working on my recovery. Sad to be missing Toronto this year. I was really looking forward to making my debut there, but recovery comes first."

Ranked sixth in the world, Muchova suffered her second Grand Slam final defeat at Wimbledon, having previously lost the 2023 French Open final to Iga Swiatek. As she focuses on her recovery, fans will be eagerly awaiting her return to the court, especially with the US Open approaching on 23 August.
