Harry Kane has expressed confidence in Thomas Tuchel's ability to learn from England's World Cup semi-final defeat to Argentina. Kane believes the upcoming Nations League campaign will be crucial for gaining experience against top teams.

Kane, who remained an unused substitute during England's thrilling 6-4 victory against France for third place, praised the team's performance as their best finish at a World Cup on foreign soil. Tuchel faced criticism for his tactical decisions against Argentina, particularly for switching to a back five while attempting to defend a 1-0 lead.

Despite the disappointment, Kane emphasized the strong sense of unity within the squad, stating, "the best England group I’ve been a part of in terms of togetherness."

He acknowledged the need for reflection, saying, "I know there are a lot of questions after the other night. We have to process it as players. I’m sure the manager will. It’s his first major tournament. He’ll learn a lot from the players, the situations, the pressures, the travel."

Kane highlighted the importance of the Nations League, where England will face Spain, Croatia, and Czechia, starting with a rematch against Spain on 26 September. He stated, "The last 30 minutes of Argentina is not the team we want to be. We need to get better at actually being in those situations."

Reflecting on Tuchel's impact, Kane noted, "He’s a fantastic coach. He not only gave the players belief but he gave the country belief that it was our year. That is why it hurts even more than other years."
