Everton have confirmed the signing of Jutta Rantala, a Finland forward, from Leicester City. Rantala, who had a year remaining on her contract, saw Everton activate an undisclosed release clause to secure her services.

This transfer follows a series of agreements between the two clubs, with BBC Sport reporting that Rantala's move marks the third deal this summer. Notably, Noemie Mouchon, a France forward, joined Everton from Leicester on a free transfer last week, while Hannah Cain, a Wales striker, returned to Merseyside from the Foxes just two days later.

During her time at Leicester, Rantala had an impressive record, scoring 13 goals in 48 appearances after joining from Swedish club Vittsjo GIK in 2023. She was recognized as Leicester's player of the season and top-scorer for the 2023-24 campaign, although her progress was hampered by a knee injury in the subsequent season. Rantala has also made her mark internationally, netting 10 goals in 36 caps for Finland and participating in the Euro 2025 tournament.

Rantala is the sixth player to leave Leicester this summer, following the club's relegation from the Women’s Super League in June. Meanwhile, Everton aims to improve upon their eighth-place finish in the WSL last season, having appointed Scott Phelan as the permanent manager this summer. With Rantala's addition, they have now made six signings, including the trio from Leicester.
