Arsenal has received a fresh glimmer of hope regarding Julian Alvarez, as the Atletico Madrid striker makes a significant change behind the scenes after a failed summer transfer.

The Gunners were previously linked with the Argentina international, alongside Barcelona, but Atletico firmly rejected any attempts at a departure. Following this, Alvarez has opted to change representatives, which could play a pivotal role if Arsenal chooses to renew their interest next summer.

Key developments include:

• Alvarez ended his long-standing relationship with Fernando Hidalgo.
• He is expected to appoint Pablo Barquero, who also represents Rodri, as his new agent.
• Other agencies, including Javier Pastore’s and those connected to Jorge Mendes, explored potential partnerships with Alvarez.

This change comes after Atletico successfully blocked moves during the summer, despite Alvarez being open to new challenges. For Arsenal, this situation is intriguing but does not indicate an imminent deal.

Reports from The Sun suggest that Arsenal remains interested after missing out on Alvarez previously. Meanwhile, Barcelona has shifted its focus, with sporting director Deco signaling that they have moved on, potentially easing competition for Alvarez's signature.

Alvarez’s versatility as a central striker or supporting forward, combined with his aggressive pressing and goal-scoring ability, makes him an attractive target for Arsenal. However, the challenge remains with Atletico, as Alvarez is contracted until 2030 and would demand a hefty fee, likely making him one of Arsenal's most significant investments.

Monitoring Alvarez's situation post-agent change will be crucial, as Arsenal should be prepared to act if he pushes for a transfer next summer.
