Argentina forward Julian Alvarez has officially expressed his desire to leave Atletico Madrid in pursuit of fulfilling his dream. This announcement follows a rejected £129m bid from Real Madrid, one of Atletico's city rivals, earlier this month.

In addition to Real Madrid, Alvarez has attracted interest from several top clubs including Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, and Arsenal. After Argentina's 2-0 World Cup Group J victory over Austria, Alvarez stated, "I spoke with people at the club, with those I had to speak with and the best thing for everyone is a transfer and I want to fulfil my dream."

The summer transfer window opens on June 15 and closes on September 1, creating a tight timeline for negotiations. Alvarez mentioned, "It's not the time to talk about this, but I also can't hide it. I try to be an honest person."

Although Atletico Madrid has pointed to a £431m release clause in Alvarez's contract as a reason for rejecting Real Madrid's offer, they have also ridiculed Barcelona's attempts to sign him this summer. Under contract until 2030 following his £81m transfer from Manchester City in 2024, Alvarez indicated that his future remains uncertain, adding, "It's not known when it will be resolved."
