On the first day, Pakistan struggled, bowled out for 171 in 48.1 overs, while England posted a formidable 409 in response. The standout performances on day three came from Ollie Robinson (3-29), Jofra Archer (3-50), and Josh Tongue (3-43), each taking three wickets on a worn pitch, alongside Gus Atkinson (1-11).

Root praised his bowlers, stating they might not fully realize their potential. He noted, "I don't think our bowlers understand well that they complement each other in these conditions."

Robinson was particularly impressive, earning man-of-the-match honors in both Tests he has played this summer. Root commended his effectiveness even after bowling 18 overs, highlighting his adaptability to the changing pitch conditions.
