Wales captain Jac Morgan faces an emotional farewell as he gears up for his last home match with Ospreys against Scarlets in the United Rugby Championship (URC) on Saturday. The 26-year-old flanker expressed his nerves about the game, acknowledging the significance of the occasion as the Welsh region bids adieu to the Brewery Field before moving to St Helens next season.

Morgan, along with fellow Wales co-captain Dewi Lake, announced their departure for Gloucester starting in the 2026-27 season, a move influenced by the uncertainty surrounding the future of regional rugby in Wales, particularly with the Welsh Rugby Union (WRU) considering cuts to regional teams.

Reflecting on his time at Ospreys, Morgan stated:

I've loved my time here with the Ospreys and the support from all the supporters has been brilliant. It's probably going to be a little bit emotional afterwards.

Having progressed through the academy at Scarlets and making his senior debut in 2019, Morgan has since earned 24 caps for Wales and participated in two Tests for the British and Irish Lions. He noted the friendships and experiences gained at Ospreys as something he will "cherish forever" and expressed gratitude towards his teammates and coaches.

Ospreys coach Richard Kelly praised Morgan's growth and leadership, stating:

We've been lucky to have him for the time we have. Hopefully, we can put in a performance that we can be proud of for him this weekend.

After recovering from a shoulder injury, Morgan returned to play impressively, highlighted by a man-of-the-match performance against Sharks last month. As Wales head coach Steve Tandy prepares to announce the squad for the Nations Championship in July, Morgan remains hopeful of selection amidst strong competition in his position.
