Despite Brentford not winning in their last six matches, they have proven to be a challenging opponent for West Ham, winning eight of their 10 Premier League encounters since the Bees were promoted. In this match, a Konstantinos Mavropanos own goal, an Igor Thiago penalty, and a strike from Mikkel Damsgaard sealed the victory for Brentford, who are now eyeing European qualification for the first time in their history.

West Ham had moments of promise, including a disallowed equaliser from Mavropanos due to a tight offside call, and Taty Castellanos hitting the post twice, while Crysencio Summerville struck the crossbar.

“We are disappointed, of course,” Nuno stated. “The first half was good, really good, really positive. We were in control, created many situations, and hit the posts. But overall, it’s a tough day for us.”

He emphasized the need for the team to bounce back, acknowledging the importance of the upcoming matches: “It’s up to us now to react, knowing that it’s three games to go.”

Conversely, Brentford's boss Keith Andrews celebrated the victory, noting their strong position in sixth place: “Clearly sixth with three games to go is not a bad position to be in. Let’s just keep pushing for the last three games.”
