Ireland fly half Jack Crowley has been ruled out until 2027, marking a significant injury setback for Munster. Crowley, who missed Ireland’s summer Nations Championship fixtures, is now facing an extended spell on the sidelines due to a lower limb vascular injury.

At just 26 years old, Crowley had recently re-established himself as Andy Farrell’s first choice No 10 during the Six Nations. However, his injury will keep him from participating in the remainder of the Nations Championship scheduled for November.

This absence poses a major challenge for Munster as they gear up for their United Rugby Championship campaign next month. Head coach Clayton McMillan emphasized Crowley's importance, stating, "Jack Crowley is a very important player for Munster and Ireland with a big future in the game and ensuring he gets back to 100% is the priority."

Ireland is set to face Fiji, South Africa, and Argentina in the Nations Championship, culminating in a final at Twickenham’s Allianz Stadium on the last weekend of November.

In addition to Crowley, Munster is managing other injuries. Ireland trio Edwin Edogbo, Tom Farrell (both shoulder), and Calvin Nash (hamstring) have undergone surgery but are expected to return for the opening block of fixtures. Munster kicks off their URC season with a home game against Glasgow Warriors at Thomond Park on Saturday, 28 September.
