Inter Milan defender Alessandro Bastoni is currently under investigation for allegations related to child prostitution. This inquiry forms part of a broader investigation conducted by the Milan Public Prosecutor’s Office into an alleged escort ring, which came to light following intercepted conversations during a probe into an events company known for organizing "all-inclusive" nights for VIP clients at football clubs.

In one concerning exchange, as reported by Gazetta dello Sport, a PR representative for the agency allegedly messaged Bastoni, stating, "I think the underage girl wants to sleep with you. I think she wants to have some fun." Bastoni reportedly responded, "Are there any places where we can hide there?" The PR representative then suggested, "We’ll figure something out. At worst, you can take her home."

Bastoni, aged 27, has been summoned to appear before prosecutors this Friday and is accused of paying for sex with a girl who was 17 at the time in June 2020. Given her status as a minor, such actions could classify as child prostitution. Bastoni's lawyer, Salvatore Scuto, stated, "My client is very shaken" and firmly denied that he ever engaged in paid sexual relations, especially with minors.

Italian media reveals that the girl has been questioned and, while she acknowledges staying at Bastoni’s residence, she denies any sexual encounter with him. Additionally, the Guardia di Finanza, an Italian militarized law enforcement agency, is reportedly seeking information from three players not under investigation: Riccardo Calafiori of Arsenal, Daniel Maldini of Atalanta, and Kevin Bonifazi of Bologna. Their involvement in various conversations is still being clarified.

This situation compounds a challenging few months for Bastoni, who faced a red card during Italy’s essential World Cup qualifying play-off against Bosnia and Herzegovina in March. The Azzurri subsequently lost on penalties, missing out on a third consecutive World Cup. Furthermore, Bastoni's family has endured online abuse following a controversial incident during Inter’s 3-2 victory over Juventus in February, where he was accused of diving to secure a red card for an opponent.
