Daytona International Speedway is set to embark on a groundbreaking technological upgrade, as it installs advanced LED lighting across its iconic 2 1/2-mile track. This ambitious project aims to create "dynamic, visually engaging moments throughout race events."

In partnership with Musco, the new system will illuminate:

• Mast poles around the oval and road course
• The infield and pit road
• Emergency lights featuring synchronized accent lighting with caution lights

This upgrade promises to deliver brighter, more consistent illumination, significantly enhancing visibility for competitors and race teams while also improving the in-person fan experience and elevating television broadcast quality.

NASCAR chief operating officer Ben Kennedy emphasized the significance of this investment, stating, "The new LED lighting system at Daytona International Speedway underscores NASCAR’s continued commitment to reinvest in its facilities, enhancing the overall experience for fans attending events at Daytona as well as those watching around the world."

Additionally, the initiative is projected to reduce energy consumption by approximately 50%, aligning with NASCAR's ambitious goal of achieving net zero operating emissions by 2035. This renovation marks the first major upgrade at Daytona since the $400 million "Daytona Rising" project, with completion expected by January 2027.
