Arsenal legend Lee Dixon has praised summer signing Christos Tzolis for his impressive performances during pre-season, emphasizing the need for him to be given "free rein" in the starting lineup. Tzolis, who joined the Gunners from Club Brugge, made an immediate impact by scoring on his debut in a friendly against Girona and providing assists against Real Betis and Borussia Dortmund.

Dixon highlighted that Tzolis's arrival fills a much-needed gap on the left wing, especially after the departure of Leandro Trossard. He expressed that this signing could have been beneficial for Arsenal even a year earlier, stating, "I’ve always said we need to strengthen that left-wing position."

He further elaborated on the squad dynamics, acknowledging Trossard's contributions last season but asserting that Tzolis represents a higher caliber of player. Dixon said, "The player who stands out for me is Tzolis. I really like this kid. I think he’s that next level up from Trossard."
