Tadej Pogacar showcased his dominance in the Tour de France, extending his lead with a stunning solo victory on the 10th stage to Le Lioran in the Massif Central. He now holds a commanding lead of over three and a half minutes ahead of his long-time rival Jonas Vingegaard, who struggled and lost further time to other podium contenders.

During a challenging stage featuring seven categorized climbs, including the notable Puy Mary Pas de Peyrol and the Col de Pertus, Pogacar made a decisive attack on the penultimate climb. Despite his triumph, he faced unexpected boos from the roadside crowd, reminiscent of the criticism faced by Team Sky and Chris Froome nearly a decade ago.

Pogacar addressed the negativity, stating, "I have haters and haters gonna hate. To all the booers who are there, they just give more boost to my teammates. They put wood on the fire." He acknowledged the overwhelming support from fans, citing Novak Djokovic as an inspiration in dealing with criticism.

Meanwhile, Pogacar's teammate, Issac Del Toro, fell behind in the podium race, allowing Remco Evenepoel, the Olympic champion, to move into third place. Vingegaard, on the other hand, finished 12 seconds behind Evenepoel, expressing his struggle with the short climbs, and reflecting on his near decision to quit cycling a year ago.

Vingegaard's wife, Trine Hansen, commented on the challenges of life as a professional cyclist, while he noted the need for changes within his team to improve his situation this season. Despite winning both Paris-Nice and the Giro d’Italia earlier this year, Vingegaard now faces the dual challenge of Pogacar and Evenepoel.

As the Tour progresses, the upcoming 11th stage from Vichy to Nevers presents an opportunity for the main contenders to regroup, while sprinters aim for a rare chance to seize victory.
