Defending Super League champions Hull KR secured a dramatic 34-20 comeback victory over Hull FC, moving back into playoff contention after trailing by 12 points.

Hull FC started strong, quickly taking a 12-0 lead with tries from Joe Batchelor and Davy Litten within the first eight minutes. However, Hull KR responded before half-time with tries from Tom Amone and Arthur Mourgue, leveling the score at 12-12.

In the second half, Hull FC regained the lead at 14-12 thanks to Zak Hardaker’s penalty, but Hull KR soon answered with a try from Jack Broadbent and another penalty from Mourgue, putting them ahead by six points.

The turning point came with 12 minutes remaining when Joe Burgess intercepted a pass, racing nearly 80 meters for a crucial try that shifted momentum in favor of Hull KR. A late penalty from Mourgue and another try by Jordan Dezaria sealed the victory, rendering Jake Arthur's late try for Hull FC insignificant.

Hull FC coach Andy Last expressed disappointment, stating, "We didn't show enough patience... credit to Hull KR; they were the better team."

On the other hand, Hull KR coach Willie Peters praised his team's resilience, emphasizing the importance of their fight despite a shaky start. Jez Litten, named player of the match, acknowledged the need for improvement but highlighted the team's determination, saying, "We're still the champion team."

Both teams now look ahead as the playoff race intensifies.
