Super League strugglers Huddersfield Giants have announced that entry will be free for their upcoming match against Catalans Dragons on Saturday, 8 August at the Accu Stadium. This initiative aims to attract fans as the Giants prepare to unveil their plans for home games in 2027.

The West Yorkshire club is facing significant challenges, as they currently sit at the bottom of the table with a dismal record of 12 successive Super League losses and only two wins from 19 matches this season. The Giants are set to leave the Accu Stadium, which they have shared with Huddersfield Town since its opening in 1994, at the end of the current season.

Recent developments have added to the uncertainty surrounding the club. Owner Ken Davy withdrew from a bid to acquire The Shay stadium in Halifax last month and resigned as chairman earlier in July. This decision follows Huddersfield Town gaining sole ownership of the Accu Stadium in September of last year.

Chairman Ralph Rimmer expressed frustration over the club's efforts to secure a new venue, stating, "Despite extensive talks with the local authority, all avenues for an easily developable site within the town perimeter have been exhausted within the necessary timeframe."

Nevertheless, Rimmer remains optimistic about the future, asserting that the vision for the Giants is to become a consistently dominant Super League force, producing sell-out crowds in their own venue.
