Georgia Hunter Bell celebrated a remarkable victory at the European 1500m Championships in Birmingham, marking her first European crown and completing a rare treble that included wins at the World Indoor Championships and the Commonwealth Games. Despite her success, she reflected on the thrilling 800m clash between Audrey Werro and Keely Hodgkinson, expressing a desire to compete against them in the upcoming Zurich Diamond League Women's 800m.

Hunter Bell acknowledged the absence of Hodgkinson and world champion Lilian Odira, noting that the event remains a significant opportunity for her. She reminisced about last year's close finish in Zurich, stating, "It was a dip on the line, but this year is such a good lineup. I think it will be a really great race."

Looking ahead, she discussed potential participation in the Diamond League Final and the World Athletics Ultimate Championships, indicating that the endurance-focused format could suit her well. Hunter Bell, who has secured medals in both the 1500m and 800m, aims to emulate the legendary Kelly Holmes by pursuing a double medal at the Beijing World Championships and the Los Angeles Olympics.

She emphasized the importance of training and recovery, stating, "I don’t just want to participate in both. If I’m going to do it, I want to at least medal in both." Hunter Bell also incorporates cycling into her training, finding joy and mental relief in long rides.

As she prepares for the Zurich event, Hunter Bell expressed excitement about the evolving competition in the 800m, highlighting its unpredictability and the thrill it brings to both athletes and spectators. "This is going to be really fun, so I think it’s great for the sport," she concluded.
