England's promising talents Henry Pollock and Noah Caluori have set their sights on securing starting positions for their national team following a commanding 73-8 victory over Fiji on Saturday.

In this match at Hill Dickinson Stadium, Pollock, 21, delivered an impressive performance, netting a hat-trick after entering as a substitute in the 48th minute. Meanwhile, Caluori, just 19 years old, made his debut off the bench, assisting Henry Slade for a try before scoring one himself.

Pollock expressed his ambitions, stating, "A big thing for me at the minute is wanting to get that starting shirt." Despite having started only once in his 12 Test appearances, he remains hopeful, noting that coach Steve Borthwick encouraged him to simply be himself during the game.

He acknowledged the fierce competition within the squad, mentioning players like Ollie Chessum, Tom Curry, Guy Pepper, and Ben Earl, stating that England's depth is "crazy good." However, his recent strong performances with Northampton and his tally of six Test tries have fueled calls for him to start.

Pollock emphasized the importance of focusing on his individual performance, saying, "I'm just trying to focus on myself and focus on my performances. Hopefully on the back of that I'll get results."

On the other hand, Caluori, who shared the top spot in the Premiership try-scoring standings this season, faces significant competition to secure a long-term starting role in the team.
