Yastika Bhatia made history by becoming the first woman to score a Test century at Lord’s, propelling India to a commanding position against England on the brink of defeat. Resuming day three on 39 not out, Bhatia reached 100 off 145 balls, hitting 14 fours before miscuing a shot to Mady Villiers as India declared at 347 for seven.

Richa Ghosh added an unbeaten 50, while skipper Harmanpreet Kaur set England an improbable target of 457 for victory.

As the final day began, England struggled, collapsing to 130 for six. They resumed at 154 for one, but early wickets fell, including Smriti Mandhana for 70 and Jemimah Rodrigues for three. Bhatia's century was celebrated as she kissed the Lord’s turf, marking her achievement on the honours board.

Sophie Ecclestone took five for 118, claiming key wickets including Harmanpreet and Deepti Sharma. The match saw the retirement of Tammy Beaumont and Heather Knight, both departing after brief innings. Beaumont fell for a duck, while Knight scored 13 and received a guard of honour from the Indian team.

Despite some resistance from Amy Jones (34) and Mady Villiers (26), England faced a daunting challenge, ending the day with Jones and Ecclestone still at the crease as they aimed to salvage the match.
