Guglielmo Vicario has expressed gratitude towards Tottenham manager Roberto De Zerbi, referring to him as a "man of his word" after a summer transfer saga that culminated in his loan to Juventus. Vicario, sidelined by a hernia operation in March, did not play under De Zerbi, which allowed Antonin Kinsky to secure the starting position.

In an interview with Sky Sports Italia, Vicario said, "Fantastic, from the first day. I thank him, I did it personally the day I signed with Juventus. With me, he was a real person, direct and above all a man of his word. He gave me the opportunity to take this step that I had in mind, he supported me, and I will always be grateful to him."

Reflecting on his time at Tottenham, Vicario noted, "There have been some dynamics that have not aligned, probably for several reasons that make no sense to mention now."

This summer, Vicario was among 19 senior departures from Spurs, while Richarlison remains after the transfer windows in Turkey and Saudi Arabia closed. De Zerbi has left Richarlison out of Tottenham's 25-man Premier League squad, meaning he will not participate for the rest of 2026.

Currently, Tottenham is still in search of their first win of the season after a goalless draw against Nottingham Forest, following losses to Brentford and Newcastle.
