Glasgow Warriors reached the semi-finals of the United Rugby Championship after a hard-fought victory over Connacht, winning 28-14 at Scotstoun. Inspired by Kyle Steyn, who scored two tries, the Warriors showcased a strong performance despite a challenging match against the resilient visitors.

The first half ended in a 7-7 stalemate, with Patrick Schickerling equalizing after Cian Prendergast opened the scoring for Connacht. Early in the second half, Glasgow surged ahead with two quick tries from Steyn and Josh McKay, establishing a 21-7 lead.

Connacht, undeterred by injuries, continued to fight back, with Dave Heffernan narrowing the gap to 21-14. Yet, Jare Oguntibeju responded swiftly, scoring shortly after to maintain a cushion for the Warriors. Steyn capped off the scoring with his second try, although the conversion was missed.

Despite not being at their best, Glasgow demonstrated resilience and game-breaking ability, especially from Steyn, who was pivotal in both attack and defense. Connacht, under coach Stuart Lancaster, played freely and posed a significant threat throughout the match, yet ultimately fell short.

The Warriors now prepare for a semi-final clash against either the Bulls or Munster at Murrayfield next Saturday, aiming for a shot at the championship title.
