FRISCO, Texas – Pro Bowl wide receiver George Pickens has officially ended his holdout from the Dallas Cowboys, rejoining the team with renewed energy. After missing voluntary organized team activities (OTAs) due to dissatisfaction over contract negotiations, Pickens showed up at The Star, Dallas' facility, on Monday.

He underwent a physical after signing the franchise tag and participated in practice during mandatory minicamp on Tuesday. Although the Cowboys held him out of team drills, head coach Brian Schottenheimer noted that Pickens could fully practice if needed.

Pickens expressed that he isn't disappointed by the absence of a long-term deal, attributing his holdout to advice from agent David Mulugheta. He emphasized the importance of communication with Cowboys owner Jerry Jones and Schottenheimer regarding his contract status, calling their conversation "super important" for maintaining a positive relationship with the organization.

He stated, "The game is going to be the game. Money is tagged to it. You just want to do your job to the best of your abilities."

Focusing on the upcoming season, Pickens aims to prove himself on the field rather than dwell on contract negotiations. "If you keep showing it, or they already have a hint of who you are, that's when they'll start speaking on contracts," he remarked.

After his first practice, Pickens showcased his excitement by celebrating his catches with a dance. He ranked third in the NFL with 1,429 receiving yards in 2025 and is determined to continue that success in 2026 without any holdouts. "I'm definitely here now," he affirmed, highlighting the camaraderie with teammates like Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb.

To secure a long-term contract, Pickens plans to maintain his performance as a top receiver. He aims for a championship, stating, "What's important to me is winning. I always want to bring a Super Bowl to a group of guys that never had that feeling."

His return is welcomed by teammates, with running back Javonte Williams noting, "We know how hard he works... we love having him back." Pickens is ready to chase the Vince Lombardi Trophy and contribute significantly to the Cowboys' success in the upcoming season.
