Gabriel Martinelli has reportedly declined the opportunity to join Galatasaray, with his representatives communicating to Arsenal that the Brazilian winger is not interested in a move to Turkey at this point in his career.

This decision follows a €45 million (£38.4m) bid from the Turkish champions, as noted by David Ornstein of The Athletic. Although Galatasaray positioned Martinelli as a key target and made an official approach, the player’s camp has firmly stated his unwillingness to make the switch.

Martinelli remains under contract with Arsenal until 2027, with the Gunners holding an option to extend his deal to 2028. While Galatasaray’s offer presents a lucrative financial opportunity, Martinelli’s clear stance means that Arsenal cannot proceed with the transfer without his consent.

Despite Martinelli’s refusal to join Galatasaray, Arsenal is reportedly open to selling him if the right opportunity arises. The crucial factor remains Martinelli's preferred destination. He is not actively seeking to leave the Emirates Stadium, but he would consider a move to another top European league if the right club comes forward.

As the transfer window nears its conclusion, Arsenal finds itself in a challenging situation. The club has already sold Leandro Trossard to Besiktas and acquired Christos Tzolis, meaning that losing Martinelli could create further gaps in Arteta’s attacking lineup.

Arsenal is also in search of a major attacking addition to enhance their front line, but their efforts have faced several setbacks this window. They missed out on prospective target Morgan Rogers, who chose Chelsea, and had a significant offer for Vinicius Junior turned down. Nevertheless, Arsenal is exploring alternative options, including a potential hijack of Liverpool’s move for Bradley Barcola. With further departures possible, including Gabriel Jesus, the Gunners aim to secure at least one more attacker before the window closes.
