Promoter Eddie Hearn has confirmed that discussions have "reopened" to host the highly anticipated Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua fight at Wembley Stadium. Negotiations had previously stalled as Madison Square Garden in New York seemed to be the favored venue for this blockbuster bout.

In a recent social media statement, Hearn expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support from fans, stating:

"I want to thank everyone for the unbelievable support! You have been heard and talks have now reopened for Wembley. Let's make history with one of the biggest sporting moments 🇬🇧 has ever seen."

Hearn also shared that he had discussions with Sadiq Khan, the Mayor of London, about the potential for hosting the fight in Wembley. He mentioned the complications surrounding scheduling, especially regarding curfews but reassured fans:

"Sadiq Khan has come back and said 'woah guys, we'll move heaven and earth to get this fight in London.'"

Earlier this week, Fury took to social media to criticize Joshua, labeling him a "coward" for the ongoing delays in the fight. In response, Mayor Khan emphasized the loyalty of British fans, urging promoters to prioritize hosting the fight in London:

"We’ve been loyal to Tyson and to Anthony. We love them both, and we’d love to see them boxing here in London."

Khan further indicated that the promoters are willing to collaborate with local authorities to facilitate this historic event. Meanwhile, Anthony Joshua recently secured a second-round knockout victory over Kristian Prenga, while Tyson Fury achieved a seventh-round stoppage against Mariusz Wach in July, both preparing for this thrilling matchup.
