Max Verstappen, the four-time world champion, has officially signed a new contract with Red Bull Racing that extends his stay until the end of 2030. This announcement puts to rest any rumors regarding his potential moves to Mercedes or McLaren after this season.

Previously, Verstappen's contract was set to expire in 2028, but it contained clauses that could have allowed him to exit at the end of the current season.

In his statement, Verstappen expressed his excitement about the future:

We have the best people and I'm excited to keep working together with everyone to get back to the top again.

Despite a challenging start to the new regulations this season, where Verstappen's best finishes have only been two second places at the Austrian and Hungarian Grands Prix, he remains committed to Red Bull. His frustrations with the team's performance have been noted, but he chose to stay loyal despite his race engineer Gianpiero Lambiase moving to McLaren by 2028.

Verstappen praised team principal Laurent Mekies, who took over last July, stating, "Getting to work with Laurent now for over a year has also been great."

The timing of this contract renewal coincides with Verstappen's final home race before the Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort falls off the calendar, marking a significant moment in his career.
