In light of Hadjar's absence, Liam Lawson from New Zealand will step in as his replacement. Lawson usually competes for Red Bull's second team, Racing Bulls, but now has the chance to prove himself on the main stage. His promotion comes after a challenging start to the 2025 season, where he faced difficulties in his initial races with Red Bull.

Yuki Tsunoda, Red Bull's reserve driver, will take Lawson's place at Racing Bulls. Tsunoda was previously dropped from the leading team at the end of the last season, making this a significant opportunity for him as well.
