This week, Hopkins visited the Georgia Tech facility, strengthening his ties with the program. His connection to Yellow Jackets offensive coordinator George Godsey is significant, as Godsey previously served as his offensive coordinator for two seasons with the Houston Texans and again last season in Baltimore.

Before making this transition, Hopkins spent time with the New England Patriots, assisting their coaching and personnel staff. He has a history with Patriots coach Mike Vrabel, having played under him during their time with the Tennessee Titans.
