Montrezl Harrell is making waves this summer as he juggles his commitments in both the Big3 and The Basketball Tournament (TBT). The former star of Louisville, who played a pivotal role in securing the program's last national title in 2013, showcases his dedication to basketball despite being out of the NBA for the last three seasons.

Last weekend, Harrell played 31 minutes for The Ville, Louisville's alumni team, against La Familia, Kentucky's alumni team, in the TBT. Less than 24 hours later, he traveled to Chicago to compete with the Chicago Triplets in the Big3. In a stunning performance, Harrell broke the league's single-game scoring record with 42 points in a 50-31 victory over the LA Riot.

Harrell is currently sixth in the Big3 with 76 points this season. He is set to play a decisive Game 3 against La Familia on Wednesday at 6 p.m. ET before heading to Detroit for a match against the Amps on Thursday.

Expressing his love for the game, Harrell stated, "I'm different, I love basketball... I never wanted basketball to be that for me because it's my peace, it's my sanctuary."

Reflecting on his time at Louisville, Harrell remains grateful for the program that shaped his NBA journey. After being drafted in 2015 by the Rockets, he became known as a key sixth man, earning the NBA Sixth Man of the Year award in 2020.

In a recent game at Freedom Hall, Harrell scored 35 points to even the series against La Familia, showcasing his enduring connection to the Louisville fans. Despite not playing in the NBA since the 2022-23 season, he remains open to a return, emphasizing his commitment to winning and team success.
