Brentford is currently in discussions with Burnley regarding a permanent transfer for Jaidon Anthony, the 26-year-old winger. After Burnley’s relegation to the Championship last season, Anthony is seeking to remain in the Premier League.

Brentford has positioned itself as the leading contender among multiple Premier League clubs, with Burnley reportedly seeking around £20 million for the English player. Anthony's recent performance has garnered attention, having scored nine goals and provided four assists in 38 appearances across all competitions last season.

The potential move to Brentford appeals to Anthony due to his London roots and his early career beginnings at Arsenal's academy. Keith Andrews, the Bees' coach, views Anthony as a suitable addition to his tactical setup.

In addition to pursuing Anthony, Brentford recently secured defender Jannik Schuster from RB Salzburg in a deal worth up to £16 million, including add-ons.

Anthony’s journey began at Arsenal, where he left in 2016 without featuring for the senior squad. He later made a name for himself at Bournemouth following loan spells at Weymouth and Leeds. After a loan stint at Burnley in 2024, his move became permanent last summer, activating an £8 million obligation-to-buy clause after Burnley’s promotion to the Premier League.

Following their relegation, Burnley is set to face West Ham United in their Championship opener on 16 August.
