Casemiro revealed to Los Angeles Galaxy that he "only wanted to play for them," according to the club's general manager Will Kuntz. This revelation comes amidst an ongoing investigation into his transfer to Inter Miami.

The 34-year-old Brazilian midfielder joined Lionel Messi at Inter Miami on a free transfer from Manchester United in July. His contract extends until the end of the 2027 MLS campaign, with an option to extend until June 2029.

In a recent match, Casemiro scored an own goal during Miami's 2-2 draw with Columbus Crew, marking Messi's return after the World Cup.

Kuntz addressed the media following a goalless draw with Dallas, discussing the MLS review into Casemiro's signing. He stated:

It is true that Casemiro called and said that he always wanted to play for Inter Miami. It's also true that came two months after he told us that he only wanted to play for the Galaxy.

The investigation centers on Casemiro's discovery rights, a regulation that grants a specific club first refusal over a player. Just minutes after the signing announcement, the MLS initiated their inquiry.

The league commented, "The league is gathering all relevant information and will refrain from further comment until the review is complete," noting that a settlement had been reached between Inter Miami and LA Galaxy regarding the discovery rights.

Casemiro expressed his feelings about the move, stating he made it clear to LA Galaxy that he wanted to join Miami. He emphasized his love for the city, saying, "In the end, Miami's a city I love. My wife, my kids and I are always here when we have days off. We know the city."
