Manny Feyi-Waboso has been cleared to play for Exeter Chiefs in the upcoming Premiership final at Twickenham after undergoing facial surgery just two weeks prior. The 23-year-old winger, who had a plate inserted in his jaw, is now ready to face Northampton and potentially participate in England’s Test against South Africa on July 4.

Rob Baxter, Exeter’s director of rugby, confirmed that the decision for Feyi-Waboso to play was ultimately his own, with no objections from England’s medical team. Baxter expressed optimism about the player’s fitness, stating, “All the information is very, very positive.” He emphasized the importance of returning to Twickenham and showing the best performance.

To ensure safety, Feyi-Waboso has been wearing a red bib during training to avoid contact, but he has been actively participating in running drills. Baxter noted that the final call on playing was made by Feyi-Waboso after discussions with medical professionals.

In addition to Feyi-Waboso's return, Ethan Roots is also set to make his comeback after missing the semi-final against Bath due to precautionary head injury protocols. Campbell Ridl has been declared fit following a knee injury.

Exeter, who finished ninth in the previous season, has surprised many by reaching the final. Baxter highlighted the significance of this opportunity, stating, “Winning the final’s not the hard part; the hard part is getting here.” He emphasized the need for Exeter to fight in all areas, not just focusing on defense against Northampton's offense.

Exeter last appeared in the domestic final in 2021, narrowly losing to Harlequins. Despite being underdogs against Northampton, Baxter is confident that Exeter will give their all both defensively and offensively.
