Fenerbahce has officially signed English forward Mason Greenwood from Marseille on a four-year contract. The Turkish club announced a transfer fee of 39 million euros (£33.27 million), although they had previously indicated a total fee of 45 million euros (£38.36 million).

In the 2025-26 Ligue 1 season, Greenwood finished joint-second in the golden boot standings, scoring 16 goals, just behind Rennes' Esteban Lepaul.

The interest in Greenwood was expressed by both presidential candidates of Fenerbahce, Aziz Yildirim and Hakan Safi, before the elections held in early June. Greenwood expressed his gratitude, stating, "Hello Fenerbahce family, thank you so much for the support you have shown me. I am very happy to be here."

During his time at Marseille, Greenwood scored 48 goals in 81 appearances across all competitions after joining from Manchester United in July 2024 for £26.6 million. At that time, United had negotiated a substantial sell-on fee, estimated at around 40%, for the academy product.

Despite charges of attempted rape and assault against him being dropped in February 2023, an internal inquiry led Manchester United to rule out his return. Subsequently, Greenwood spent the 2023-24 season on loan at Getafe.

Fenerbahce, which finished second for the fifth consecutive season in the Turkish Super Lig, is set to face Poland's Gornik Zabrze in the second qualifying round of the Champions League this month.
