RB Leipzig has swiftly rejected Liverpool’s ambitious €100 million bid for teenage winger Yan Diomande. The Premier League club aimed to secure one of Europe’s most sought-after young talents, only to be met with resistance from the Bundesliga side, prompting Liverpool to reassess their approach.

The proposed deal included a guaranteed €90 million upfront, plus €10 million in performance-related add-ons. Sky Sports reporter Phillip Hinze confirmed the details, noting that Leipzig’s response was anticipated to be negative from the outset.

New Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola views Diomande as the ideal successor to Mohamed Salah, who departed Anfield at the end of the previous season. Discussions regarding personal terms have reportedly gone smoothly, should an agreement with Leipzig be reached.

However, Leipzig's firm stance on retaining Diomande is evident, as they are keen to offer him an improved contract following his recognition as the Bundesliga Rookie of the Season. The initial valuation of €90 million plus €10 million was deemed insufficient, with Leipzig aiming for a figure closer to €120 million, especially with the player showcasing his talent at the 2026 World Cup.
