David Moyes has confirmed that he has never met or spoken to Everton owner Dan Friedkin since returning as manager in January 2025. Friedkin, who heads The Friedkin Group managing the club from Houston, has not been present for a home game since finalizing the takeover in December 2024.

As scrutiny intensified regarding the club's management during the recent summer transfer window, Moyes reiterated his commitment to Everton ahead of their match against Manchester United on Sunday. When questioned about his communication with Friedkin over the past 20 months, Moyes simply stated, "No."

Friedkin delegates daily operations to his son-in-law Rishi Majithia, who collaborates with chief executive Angus Kinnear. Moyes emphasized, "My real contact is Angus. Rishi is the next one, and then the head of the Friedkin family in America."

Fans expressed their frustration during last Saturday's match against Bournemouth after learning that the club accepted a £40m bid from Nottingham Forest for star midfielder Harrison Armstrong. Although Everton later withdrew from the deal, supporters remained upset over board decisions, including the last-minute sale of Beto to Fiorentina without a replacement.

Everton concluded the transfer window with only 18 senior players, featuring just one striker, right-back, and left-back.

Moyes aligned himself with the fans, stating that the club is "managed by an Evertonian" and acknowledged their concerns as valid. He recognized the need for improvements in the club's structure, noting, "We've got new owners in who are still feeling their way in the club."

Despite the challenges, Moyes affirmed his dedication to Everton, stating, "I wouldn't have come back for anybody but Everton." He called for unity from fans, emphasizing their vital role as the team navigates a difficult season ahead.
