Everton manager David Moyes expressed his frustration after the transfer deadline day left him wanting more. He acknowledged he must "live with disappointments" following a series of near-misses in the transfer market.

A key target, Folarin Balogun of Monaco, had his move collapse after changing his mind post-medical at the Finch Farm training base. Balogun's potential arrival became a priority after Beto transferred to Fiorentina.

Additionally, Everton explored options for Joshua Zirkzee from Manchester United and Tammy Abraham from Aston Villa but could not secure either player.

Despite the setbacks, Everton did manage to sign Jack Grealish on a season-long loan from Manchester City. However, the club faced a significant loss as star attacker Iliman Ndiaye departed for City in a deal worth £65m.

Moyes commented on the situation, stating, "I am disappointed that we didn't do more business and things didn't go our way in the end. Sometimes in football you have to live with disappointments and move on, and we will."

The failed deal with Balogun stemmed from issues during his medical, leading both clubs to renegotiate the initial £40m agreement. Moyes clarified, "It wasn't anyone's fault... the player had a problem in his medical and that was simply it."

The sale of Ndiaye, who scored 15 goals and provided four assists in 67 Premier League games, was intended to fund new signings. Everton also sought Kenny Tete from Fulham, but the deal fell through as Fulham could not find a replacement. They did, however, sign Ainsley Maitland-Niles from Lyon for £3m.

Moyes concluded, "We lost Iliman Ndiaye, which is someone we definitely didn't want to lose, but sometimes it is difficult when the likes of Man City come along." He reflected on the mixed outcomes of the transfer window, emphasizing that some circumstances were beyond their control.
