Crystal Palace is currently engaged in discussions to re-sign Evann Guessand on a season-long loan from Aston Villa.

The 25-year-old Ivory Coast forward previously played for Palace during the latter half of last season, contributing to the team's success in winning the Conference League in May.

Guessand joined Villa in August last year for £26 million, but faced challenges in his initial season, netting only two goals in 21 appearances across all competitions. His transfer to Palace in January marked a turning point, where he scored his first Premier League goal in a 1-0 victory over Wolves and participated in the Conference League final against Rayo Vallecano.

Additionally, Guessand earned a Europa League winner's medal after appearing for Villa earlier in the season, which culminated in their trophy win under Unai Emery.

This summer, he made two substitute appearances for the Ivory Coast at the World Cup. Following his return to Villa for pre-season training, Palace opted not to exercise their option to sign him earlier this summer, leading to the current negotiations.
