Real Sociedad defender Jon Martin has addressed speculation regarding his future amid interest from Barcelona and Real Madrid. The 20-year-old centre-back, who has become a crucial player for La Real this season, is recognized as one of Spain's top defensive talents.

Rumors of Real Madrid scouting Martin began in March, while Barcelona's interest surfaced in April. Reports indicate that Director of Football Deco met with Martin's agent to discuss his contract situation. In October, Martin signed a new deal with Real Sociedad that extends until 2031 and includes a €50m release clause.

In a recent interview with Diario AS, Martin expressed his desire to remain with Real Sociedad, stating, "I want to be here as long as possible, I want to be here, at home, because this is the place that has given me everything. I’m at peace and I hope to be here for many years and win many titles like the Cup."

Despite the transfer chatter, Martin remains focused on his current club. He acknowledged that the rumors are hard to ignore, saying, "It’s impossible not to hear about it because everyone’s talking about it. I’ve seen a few things; a lot of things are said, but I don’t know anything and I’m not worried about it, to be honest."

This season, Martin has made 28 appearances for Real Sociedad, scoring once and playing a pivotal role in their recent Copa del Rey victory.
