Enzo Maresca has shared insights from his meeting with Pep Guardiola following Manchester City’s defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League. The encounter took place at the Etihad Stadium after the match, with Guardiola expressing support amidst the recent turmoil surrounding the club due to a guilty verdict from an independent commission on 115 charges.

Maresca reflected on their conversation, stating, “I saw him after the game. Not before, we were talking about the game, the first half, the second half. He was very happy to be at the stadium. Very positive about things he's seen in the game. It was great for the fans to see him at the stadium. It'll always be his house.”

Despite the challenges, Maresca remains optimistic about the club's handling of the situation, asserting his trust in the organization at “100 percent.” He highlighted the importance of the upcoming match, saying, “Tomorrow is three points game, the same as Anfield away, it's important to continue the run and try to win.”

Maresca emphasized his focus on winning upcoming games, dismissing external pressures as something beyond his control. He remarked, “I don't feel any kind of stress about the outside situation. I focus on how to win the next games.”

Looking ahead to the weekend’s match against Ipswich, Maresca expressed a desire to see the fans replicate the joyful atmosphere created during City’s 3-0 victory at Liverpool, where supporters celebrated with blow-up bananas, a nod to the club's history. “It was very nice,” Maresca noted. “I hope to see many bananas in the stadium.” His excitement reflects a commitment to fostering a positive environment for fans and players alike.
