Lauren James emphasized that England must focus on winning their upcoming play-off matches against Greece to secure a spot at the 2024 World Cup in Brazil. After finishing second in qualifying Group 3, just behind Spain on goal difference, England faces Greece in a crucial double-header.

James stated, "We can't change what happened and that's where we are now. I think we have to just try to look forward to win these games. That's always our goal at the end of the day."

Should England advance past Greece, they will meet the winner of the Slovakia vs Ukraine tie, with the ultimate aim of qualifying for the prestigious tournament.

Currently in fine form with Chelsea, where she has contributed to their second-place standing in the Women's Super League, James remains optimistic about her performance. "I'm always looking forward to coming into camp with England and getting another opportunity to play for the country," she remarked, expressing that her best is yet to come.

In related news, Lexi Potter, a Chelsea midfielder, received her first call-up for the England squad and shared her surprise and excitement about the opportunity. At just 20 years old, Potter has made significant contributions to her team, including scoring in a recent match against Birmingham. "I was really happy and went downstairs and told my mum and she was really proud of me," Potter recounted, highlighting her gratitude for the chances at Chelsea.
