Cardiff City has officially filed an appeal following a French judge's decision to dismiss their claim for over £100m in compensation related to the tragic death of footballer Emiliano Sala.

Emiliano Sala, along with pilot David Ibbotson, lost their lives when the Piper Malibu aircraft they were traveling in crashed into the English Channel on the night of 21 January 2019.

At the time of the incident, the Argentine striker was en route to join Cardiff City, who were competing in the Premier League, after transferring from FC Nantes for a fee of £15m.

The appeal underscores Cardiff City's ongoing pursuit of accountability and financial restitution following this devastating event.
