As the leaves turn and Halloween approaches, the EFL is heating up with teams vying for promotion and survival. This weekend features crucial matchups, particularly in the Championship, where Swansea City and West Ham United are set to face off in a highly anticipated clash.

Swansea, riding high after a last-minute victory at Millwall, has secured four consecutive wins, placing them at the top of the Championship, a position they haven't enjoyed in 16 years. They boast the division's best defense, having conceded only seven goals this season.

In contrast, West Ham, determined to return to the Premier League, sits four points behind in third after a commanding 6-0 victory over Lincoln City. The Hammers lead all tiers of English football with 29 goals in just 10 games but have struggled defensively, having fallen behind in eight matches this season.

Key points to watch:

• Swansea's home record: Unbeaten at home, conceding just twice in five games.
• West Ham's offensive prowess: Top scorers with a strong attacking lineup.

Additionally, the battle for promotion intensifies as Birmingham City and Queens Park Rangers challenge the status quo of the Championship. Birmingham, after a 4-0 thrashing of Preston North End, sits fourth, while QPR follows closely, buoyed by a recent 4-1 win over Derby County. Both teams remain unbeaten in their recent away fixtures.

Meanwhile, Leicester City faces mounting pressure following a disheartening 3-1 loss to Peterborough United, marking their third defeat in four home games. Currently 17th in the league, Leicester struggles with defensive issues and must turn their fortunes around against Doncaster Rovers to avoid slipping into the relegation zone. The situation remains tense as Russell Martin's position comes under scrutiny, with fans calling for change.

This weekend promises to deliver drama and pivotal moments in the EFL as teams fight for their season's ambitions.
