The question of Harry Kane's replacement looms large as the striker, now 33, continues to break records for England. Recently, he became the joint-highest appearance-maker for the national team, scoring twice in a 3-0 win over Czechia on October 10, 2023, bringing his total to 91 goals in 125 caps.

Kane, who enjoyed a remarkable season with Bayern Munich, scoring 61 goals in 51 matches during the 2025-26 campaign, is among the frontrunners for the Ballon d'Or. However, with the next European Championship approaching in 2028, the search for a suitable successor intensifies.

Thomas Tuchel, the manager of the Three Lions, acknowledged the challenge, stating, "You will not get another Harry Kane. We look for different options."

One potential candidate, Jude Bellingham, has emerged as a strong contender. Tuchel praised Bellingham's versatility, saying, "I like him as a nine. He is a natural goalscorer with a hunger to score."

Since the 2026 World Cup, Bellingham has netted 10 goals in 12 matches for England, showcasing his development as a key player. Yet, opinions vary on whether Bellingham is the ideal replacement for Kane.

Paul Robinson, a former England goalkeeper, expressed skepticism, saying, "I don't see Bellingham as the out-and-out number nine."

In terms of natural forwards, options appear limited. Dominic Calvert-Lewin has shown promise but lacks consistency, while other strikers like Ivan Toney and Ollie Watkins are now in the Saudi Pro League.

Emerging talents like Brian Madjo and Will Lankshear show potential, but Kane's longevity could provide these young players time to develop.

Kane himself remains optimistic, drawing inspiration from the enduring career of Lionel Messi. Tuchel concluded, "There will be someone else, but it will not be Harry or a copy of Harry. We will find a solution when it comes to it."
